Introducing Me!
Hey everyone! My name is Rebecca Cardot, I'm a transfer student at Georgia Gwinnett College. I previously studied at Gwinnett Technical College and graduated from their Photography program. I was a year into the program when I found out they were terminating my program and I only had 2 more years to finish the degree. At the time I was a high school student doing dual enrollment. For me the program being terminated was a very stressful thing because if I didn't finish the program in 2 years, then I wouldn't receive my degree. As a high school student I was attempting to achieve my Diploma, Certifications in photography, and an Associates Degree. That's a lot of stress to take on in your sophomore year of high school, but I pushed through and achieved my degree in photography. I'm now certified as a Digital Technician, Portrait Specialist, and Event Photography Specialist. Flash forward to my current goal, I'm now pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business with a concentration of Business Management. Once I achieve my goal of getting a Bachelors degree in Business, I plan to slowly work my way up to running my own studio. A long term goal of mine is to run a franchise of portrait studios and do freelance travel photography.
On a more personal level I was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia, I'm nineteen years old. I enjoy travelling, painting, cooking, and watching sports. My father was born in Venezuela so I plan to travel there when things have settled down. My mother is from Texas, but she's Italian. My grandfather on my dad's side sparked my interest in photography when I was 8 years old. He bought me my first digital camera for Christmas that year in 2009. Little did I know that would later become my passion, and even later become my career path. I chose to pursue an education and career path in photography because I wanted to enjoy my job. My father always told me "If you're doing something you enjoy, you never work a day in your life." I've stood by that quote since my sophomore year of high school. I hope you guys enjoyed getting to know a little more about me!
